Information for Vets & Allied Professionals

The Process

Referral

All treatments are conducted with veterinary consent following completion of the attached referral form. As standard, we request an updated referral form every 6 months.

If you would like to refer an animal for physiotherapy, please complete and sign the attached referral form and return over email to emilyphysiovet@gmail.com

Treatment

All physiotherapy treatments are undertaken by Emily Harris. Emily is a fully insured, MSc Veterinary Physiotherapist with accreditation from the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists NAVP, Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists IRVAP(VP)(ICH) and Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners RAMP. As of 2024, Emily is also a co-opted RAMP council member. Emily also holds a Level 3 Small Animal Hydrotherapy qualification accredited by the SEG. Treatments use a combination of manual therapies, electrotherapies and remedial exercises bespoke to individual patient needs.

Updates

Here at PhysioVet we are strong believers in the multidisciplinary team! We encourage a multimodal and universal approach to ensure the best possible animal care. Whether vet or paraprofessional, we always welcome a full case history and discussion.

A physiotherapy report is communicated to the veterinarian after a patient’s initial consultation and treatment. This outlines physical assessment findings, treatments conducted and physiotherapeutic aims. A full update is then completed after a minimum of 10 sessions. Updates can be more frequent on request.
