MSc Veterinary Physiotherapist Small Animal Hydrotherapist MNAVP MIRVAP(VP)(ICH) MRAMP RAMP Co-Opted Council Member

PhysioVet was established in 2021 by Emily Harris who was awarded a Distinction from Writtle University College after completing a Level 7 Integrated Master’s degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy. Emily has since gained accreditation from the NAVP, IRVAP and RAMP and undertakes regular continual professional development (CPD) to stay up to date with scientific advances and therapies within the veterinary industry. As of 2024 Emily has also been elected onto the RAMP council as a co-opted member.

Emily has a passion for evidence based practice; and only uses therapeutic modalities that are scientifically proven to be effective. In particular, Emily has developed a keen interest into how various physiotherapeutic techniques have a positive impact on an animals biomechanics. In 2021 she completed a trial determining massage effective in increasing a horses stride length. She is excited for her future plans to conduct further research into the modalities within her therapeutic tool kit.

Having witnessed how exercise in water positively influences movement on land, Emily completed her Level 3 Hydrotherapy qualification accredited by the SEG. She is proud to work alongside Wren Canine Hydrotherapy in Mildenhall 2 days a week alongside her mobile clinic to provide treatment plans incorporating both physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.

“With a love for animals from a young age, training to become a veterinary physiotherapist seemed a natural progression. I feel privileged to be part of an animals journey, whether it be post-surgical, performance or palliative care. I love watching them progress to feel happy, comfortable & strong.”
